From Fairways Around the World to a Book I’m Proud to Share

Golf has taken me further than I ever could have imagined.

Through a career in international cooperation and education, I’ve had the privilege of traveling to more than 80 countries. Along the way, I’ve managed to find a golf course in most of them - sometimes famous, often unexpected, always memorable.

Last year, I stepped away from full-time work and into what I like to call “rewirement.” It felt like the right moment to finally begin sharing this lifelong passion - and the experiences that have come with it - with others who are equally obsessed with the game.

Not long after, I was fortunate to be invited to contribute to a project that brought all of this together: a book on the World’s Greatest Golf Courses, created by Moseley Road Inc for Barnes & Noble.

But the journey behind this book extended far beyond the courses themselves.

It was shaped by the people. Along the way, I had the chance to connect with those who steward these remarkable places - the superintendents, the club professionals, the historians, the staff who greet you when you arrive and quietly shape your entire experience. Their pride, their stories, and their deep care for these courses revealed something important: great golf courses are not just designed—they are looked after, protected, and lived in.

Those human connections became just as meaningful as the landscapes.

The book will soon be available in the U.S. through Barnes & Noble, and I’m hopeful that booksellers will be carrying it in Canada. We’re hopeful it will continue to find its way into other parts of the world as well.

My hope is that readers will enjoy this book as much as I’ve enjoyed the journey behind it, and that it might inspire golf enthusiasts everywhere to discover, travel, and play some of these extraordinary courses in the years ahead. While the title speaks of the “greatest,” my deeper hope is that within these pages you will find places that feel essential - courses that are not simply ranked highly, but remembered vividly. For in the end, greatness in golf is not measured only by prestige or position, but by experience: the quality of the walk, the character of the land, the stories shared, and the moments that stay with us long after the final putt drops.
